Interdental cleaning

Brushing may be before flossing the dictionary but it is not when it comes to our teeth. Research states that interdental cleaning before you brush is the best way to clean the teeth effectively.

The action of cleaning the middle parts of teeth using the interdental brush, water or dental floss, or air floss lose the bacteria and food debris in it. This allows the brushing to remove much more particles and also plaque.

Facts show that the one having interdental cleaning before brushing has a much cleaner mouth compared to those who do it afterward. Using flossing or interdental brushes is a key part to maintain good oral health.

Spit, not rinse

After completing the brushing part, one must spit the toothpaste. Here everyone is aware of rinsing the mouth out but if such a process is followed, you end up washing the fluoride that continues to protect the teeth.

Fluoride is an important ingredient of toothpaste that greatly helps to maintain oral health by strengthening the tooth enamel. It makes your tooth more resistant to decay.

Spitting out the excess paste but not rinsing it ensures that fluoride remains on your teeth and continues to stay effective.

Try fluoride mouthwash

One can boost oral health by using a fluoride mouthwash. This mouthwash helps to cleat the mouth of debris. It can also stop plaque from building up on the gums, between the teeth, and on the surface of the teeth.

Mouthwash can help to freshen your breath by killing the bacteria giving you bad breath. You must use a fluoride mouthwash daily as a supplement with brushing twice daily to stay fresh and cool. But such a wash cannot be a replacement for brushing.

Beware of snacking

What we eat can influence our oral health a lot. Snacking now and then can seem harmless but is actually not. It can actually do a lot more damage to your teeth particularly if you are having sugary food and drinks.

Many of us skip regular meals and opt for something sugary instead. It is far better for our teeth and also our health to have three meals a day instead of eating snacks throughout the day. One should try to maintain a balanced diet and especially for teeth it is important to avoid sugary food.
